Craniosacral Therapy

Three Routes to Healing

  1. You must let the pain visit.

  2. You must allow it to teach you.

  3. You must not allow it to overstay.

We carry our stories in the body.

Most of us live mostly in the mind, and many of us have dissociated from the body.

But the body still holds the stories.

And the stories never lie.

When the pain has taught us what we need, gentle touch can allow it to unwind and finally release.  And through that touch we can learn to live in the body again, and awaken the innate healing capacity within.

When we approach the body in a loving, nurturing way, with gentle touch and deep listening, it unwinds from trauma and tension patterns, and the teaching begins.

I do this work with my hands and my heart, opening to the wisdom of the body.  Opening to what lies within the cells.  Open to the direction the tissues want to flow, their lines of tension and lines of release.  As I follow the direction of the body, it shows me what needs to be healed.

Over my 25 years as a bodyworker I have learned many techniques, and have incorporated them into the work of my hands, but the real work is the nurturing touch, the respect of the body’s wisdom, the awe I never lose of the miracle of our structure - the miracle of the system we call body.  Living, breathing, pulsing, digesting, walking, dancing, loving body.

Craniosacral therapy beautifully incorporates the full body experience with the individual areas of restriction, visceral manipulation focuses on the dance of the organs, and reiki brings the energetic experience into play.

This gentle touch allows the bodymind to open, and is a wonderful way to open the subconscious pathways to begin healing.

It can relieve pain, headaches, muscle tension and nerve restrictions.  It helps the body and brain rebalance after trauma, and awakens the healing power of the vital force.  It’s miraculous for recovery from head injury, falls and other accidents.   It can help you get back in your body when you’re dissociated, and help you love your body again, and rejoice in the miracle that is you.

My training in bodywork includes a massage degree from East West College in 1997, coursework in naturopathic manipulation and orthobionomy in medical school at NUNM, and extensive training with the Upledger and Barral Institutes over the past 20+ years.

“I have come to the conclusion that human beings are born with an innate capacity to triumph over trauma. I believe not only that trauma is curable, but that the healing process can be a catalyst for profound awakening—a portal opening to emotional and genuine spiritual transformation. I have little doubt that as individuals, families, communities, and even nations, we have the capacity to learn how to heal and prevent much of the damage done by trauma. In so doing, we will significantly increase our ability to achieve both our individual and collective dreams.”
