Dr. Crisp: My Approach
True healing begins when we treat the body, mind, and story as one interconnected whole.
I specialize in treating patients who are struggling with gut health—issues like acid reflux, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, or food sensitivities.
I also work with those who have been diagnosed with conditions such as IBS, Crohn’s, Ulcerative Colitis, Celiac disease, or ulcers. As part of my toolkit, I offer visceral manipulation, including hiatal hernia adjustments, which can often relieve reflux.
I have a strong interest in the connection between gut health and mental health. Many of my patients are navigating anxiety, depression, chronic stress, grief, addiction, or PTSD—often alongside digestive concerns. I tailor care to each individual’s needs and story, always looking for the root cause.
I also work extensively with autoimmune conditions and have helped many patients achieve remission or "negative" antibody lab results. Inflammation, hidden infections, food triggers, and unprocessed emotional trauma are often at the core, and I take the time to explore each layer.
Many of my patients come to me after being dismissed or overlooked by conventional medicine. They may feel tired, foggy, or unwell with "normal" labs. I take these cases seriously, diving deep to uncover conditions like mold illness, Lyme disease, chronic EBV, or autoimmune issues. With a background in microbiology, I bring a strong foundation in diagnosing and treating chronic infections.
I see myself as a specialist, not a primary care doctor. While I may prescribe pharmaceuticals when appropriate, I do not manage medications prescribed by other providers.
When indicated, I offer bodywork and adjustments during visits—particularly in cases of acute pain. Though I’m not a licensed massage therapist, my training as a naturopathic doctor included electives in a full year of bodywork and orthobionomy that I integrate when they support healing.
